The rank distribution within CSGO is split across eighteen ranks in total, ranging from Silver to Global Elite. At the top end of the scale are the players that reach a high skill level in every aspect of Counter-Strike, including statistics. These players typically have very refined techniques and can dominate the opposing teams in every way possible. At the lower end of this skill spectrum are the players that have a solid understanding of the game, but struggle to apply that knowledge on a consistent basis, and as such they are often out of the competitive pool.

The CSG rankings in my opinion, should always be separated by skill group. The top end of the scale should always consist of teams like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike: Reflex. These are the most dominant games in terms of overall competitiveness. By placing these games in the upper bracket, teams show that they have the ability to compete against the best, and by placing them lower there shows that they lack the raw talent and potential that the top teams possess. This doesn't mean that these teams aren't good, it's just that they haven't shown that they can challenge the top dogs yet.

The next step up in the ranking system is the Platinum players. These players have the raw skill to compete at the top level but don't have the ceiling that the higher ranked players have. This is because although they have been Platinum players, they are not as well skilled as some of the other higher ranked players. It also doesn't mean that they haven't made a lot of money or didn't make it to the big leagues, because they may very well have. But then again maybe they just haven't yet reached the level of dominance that the other players have.

The last step up in the CS: GO ranks is the Gold players. They are the elite players in the world of competitive CS: Go, and have consistently made it to the upper levels of the competitive ladder time again. They have also consistently won a majority of the major tournaments, such as the likes of Valve's tournament called The International. They also posses a lot of money through sponsorship, which makes them even more valuable players in the eyes of other competitors.

If you know how to play, dominate your opponents, and get the most out of every kill that you can get, then you will be able to get to the top of the rankings. There are tons of useful tips and tricks to make sure that you are winning the most and making the most money possible when playing. But remember that if you want to stay at the top, you have to constantly prove to your teammates that you can still be a top contender, and that you are still the best.
